The Development of Electronic Ink Display The development of electronic ink (electrophoretic ink, E Ink) display technology has a history of nearly 25 years. This technology was first invented by American physicist Joseph Jacobson and his team at the MIT Multimedia Lab in 1996. Later, his students established E Ink Corporation in 1997. At the beginning of the company, it partnered with Philips, but this technology did not have many applications at that time.
